Reading articles about makeup artists that had helped change women's lives, and also just playing in the makeup aisles at the drugstore. As I started doing makeup on friends and family, I was amazed to see how much fun it was making women feel wonderful about themselves with just a little bit of makeup.

As a Fine Arts student, my interests in art and how it was conveyed on the face grew over time, and that's when I knew I wanted to be a makeup artist.

WHAT INSPIRED HIM TO WORK IN MAKEUP
My inspiration has always been my mother, who I saw everyday made up and perfectly done. Seeing her in bright and bold colors made me smile. As I child, I was active in theater and dance, and loved the way makeup could transform you into a specific character. I love how makeup can empower a woman and give her confidence.

I cannot live without Black Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner. Everyone should have this in her makeup bag. No matter what intensity the line needs to be, this classic liner creates the perfect contrast and definition to make your eyes stand out. I love the art behind makeup. I loved to paint and draw. When an opportunity came to work in cosmetics, I thought, "This will be fun—like painting on a 3D canvas."

So when I got to college, I decided to enroll in a makeup artistry program and find out for myself.
